Overview

Released in June 2013, the Abarth 695 Edizione Maserati was a light, three-door convertible with a soft-top roof.Although based on the Fiat 500C , the 695 Edizione Maserati was powered by a 1.4-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that was fitted with a Garrett 1446 turbocharger and had a ‘Record Monza’ variable back-pressure dual-mode exhaust system for improved performance beyond 3000 rpm. The engine was mated to a C510 version of Fiat’s five-speed ‘Dualogic’ semi-automatic transmission with steering wheel gearshift paddles.

Production of the 695 Edizione Maserati was limited to 499 vehicles and, of these, 40 were allocated to Australia. Visually, the 695 Edizione Maserati could be identified by its Pontevechhio Bordeaux paint finish and, inside, its Jaeger-produced instrument panel and matt-finish carbon lining for the dashboard and gearshift area. The 695 Edizione Maserati was also sold with a Tramontano luggage set.

The 695 Edizione Maserati was 3546 mm long, 1627 mm wide, 1488 mm tall and had a 2300 mm long wheelbase. Furthermore, the 695 Edizione Maserati had MacPherson strut front suspension and a torsion beam rear axle (both with Koni shock absorbers).

Safety equipment

Standard safety equipment included dual front airbags, a driver’s knee airbag, front side airbags, full-length curtain airbags, ABS, electronic brake force distribution, brake assist, electronic stability control, traction control, anti-submarining front seats and front seatbelts with pretensioners and load limiters.

Brakes

The Abarth 695 Edizione Maserati had a Brembo braking package which consisted of 305 mm by 28 mm ventilated front brake discs with fixed four-piston calipers and 264 mm by 22 mm perforated rear brake discs.

Standard features for the Abarth 695 Edizione Maserati included 17-inch ‘Nepture’ alloy wheels with 205/40 R17 tyres, 400 watt JPL sound system with an eight channel amplifier, nine speakers, auxiliary inputs and Bluetooth connectivity, a Blue&Me TomTom navigation system, beige leather upholstery, climate control air conditioning, xenon headlights, front fog lights, a leather-wrapped steering wheel with audio controls, remote central locking, power windows and mirrors, a tilt adjustable steering wheel, height adjustable driver’s seat, aluminium sill plates, a carbon fibre kick plate, tyre pressure monitoring, a trip computer and an immobiliser.
