Overview

Released in June 2005, the Suzuki APV was a two-seat, five-door van. All models were powered by a 1.6-litre four-cylinder petrol engine that was mated to a five-speed manual transmission. The 1.6-litre G16A engine had a single overhead camshaft, four valves per cylinder and a compression ratio of 9.5:1.

As per the second table, below, the APV was 4155 mm long, 1655 mm wide, 1860 mm tall and had a 2625 mm long wheelbase. Furthermore, the APV had MacPherson strut front suspension and a rigid rear axle with leaf springs.

Safety equipment

Standard safety equipment for the APV included dual front airbags and front seatbelts woth pretensioners and limiters.

ANCAP crash testing

In ANCAP crash testing , a 2007 APV received a three star adult occupant protection rating with a score of 23.54. In the offset crash test, protection from serious leg injury was poor for the driver as the footwell deformed, and there was also a moderate risk of serious chest injury for both of the front occupants. In the side impact test, a default score was conferred.

Features

Standard features for the Suzuki APV included a two speaker sound system with CD player, vinyl seats, cabin lights and front sunvisors. From July 2006, the APV was further equipped with air conditioning, remote central locking, a 12 volt power outlet, central dash clock and front floor carpet.
